govino
Joseph T. Perrulli and Boyd Willat originally created govino as an industry trade tool to help professional salespeople showcase their wines whenever and wherever proper stemware wasn't accessible (think: wine shop owner with a paper cup!) Once they began testing the market, they realized there was an even greater demand for govino in the consumer sector, particularly at settings where breakable glass is an issue.
Upon its debut in 2008, govino quickly began "bouncing" off shelves from venues as diverse as Dean & Deluca in Napa Valley to MoMA in NYC. govino received the prestigious 2010 Silver International Design Excellence Award from the International Design Society of America and the 2010 GOOD DESIGN Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
Impossibly thin, govino is comprised of a flexible, odor-free, food-safe, BPA-free polymer, which reflects a wine's color and projects its aromatics much like crystal. It is shatterproof, reusable, and ultimately recyclable.
We are launching govino nationally to customers with a wine/beer license and rolling it out in select markets.
Currently govino is available in Washington State, Illinois and New York.
