I grew up in New York City in the 70's & 80's. I like to think of it as a Tale of Two Cities. I have two images that stick in my mind from those days ...one is of President Ford giving New York the finger when the city needed a bail out (can you imagine that happening now?) and the other was a friend who told me he could never live in NYC because "It's a crazy place for crazy people". (That was in '92 - of course he's been living there for a dozen years now and can't imagine living anywhere else.) All roads lead to the wine business... my road started in high school where I first learned Italian. I stayed in academia into my 30s earning an "ABD" in Italian at the University of Chicago. By then only two things really spoke to me: wine & Italy (and food - of course - I'm Italian!) . Luck came into play when a friend left a great job in the Italian wine business in 2001 and I was hired to replace him. I passed up two opportunities to work for Dave & Brian at Dalla Terra. And both times I knew I had made a big mistake. I wasn't about to make that mistake a third time. I just love this company, the wines and most of all,the people.
