Many of you know me as Madonna del Vino, which came about during my early days in the Italian wine business. Even though my parents were both second generation Italians, it was the 1950s, and they were all about assimilating, so Dawn sounded nice and American! However, not very easy for Italians to pronounce! Hence, Madonna del Vino was born! Before those days, I spent the first 20 years of my life in Florida, graduating with a BA in Theatre from FSU. I moved immediately to Colorado, where I got hooked on the restaurant business, specifically managing an Italian restaurant, which put me on the path to where I am today. I went to working for a Wine & Spirits distributor in the mid- 80s and then into the Italian import business in the mid 90s. I still live in Colorado, and work in 9 other states. You will usually see me pictured, with the loves of my life, Allie and Ben, my nipoti (grandchildren). When I'm not working or attending Nuggets' games (probably none in 2011-2012), I am spending time with them.
