My wine life started in the mid 90's, I was a Catering Manager at MIT and I covered the President House events. The president at the time, told me that "at the MIT President's house we only serve wine made by David Stare." Before the internet the "who is David Stare?" question put me in touch with some very interesting people in some very interesting careers. My interest in the Wine Business grew. Less than a year later that I headed west to the CIA Napa to take my first wine course with Karen MacNeil. I quit my catering job the day I returned from CA. I worked in restaurants and on the road for a local broker. Anything to get exposure to wine, tastings, books, people... My love for wine was alive and growing. My love for European Wine began in the late 90's when I started at Boston Wine Company. I worked there for Mr Francophile for eleven years. During these years I traveled to France, Italy and Spain learning about wine. During this time I completed the WSET at Boston University. At Boston Wine Co. I worked two different territories as a Sales Representative and then covered the state as the On Premise Sales Manager. On the personal side of things, I was born and raised in Massachusetts just north of Boston. Irish and Sicilian, my love for food comes from the Sicilian side my cooking skills probably the other (luckily my husband can cook). I still live in MA, I think it's the change of seasons and proximity to family that keeps me here. My husband and I are busy raising our two young boys. We live on the South Coast of MA where during the warmer half of the year you will find us sailing Buzzards Bay on our classic 1936 sloop we have been restoring for 12 years. I like to think that life is about quality not quantity.
