The Alois Lageder winery, family-owned since 1823 in the Alto Adige region, introduced Terra Alpina as a collaboration with wine-growing partners in the Dolomiti area, including northern and central Trentino and estate vineyards in Alto Adige. The wines are focused on creating vibrant, fresh wines that highlight the distinctive alpine terroir. The contrasting elements of the Dolomites—rugged mountains, lakes, hot and cold climates, limestone, and volcanic soils—create wines with tension, liveliness, and the potential to age up to a decade, embodying the "power of nature" in every bottle. Terra Alpina wines demonstrate a commitment to sustainability through certified organic farming with the goal of transitioning all partner vineyards to organic or biodynamic practices.
